Changes in land use of the Krkonoše Mts. and the Hrubý Jeseník Mts. alpine treeless: a summary of the current state of knowledge and a comparison of historical development

Alpine treeless is a unique phenomenon in Czechia occupying the largest area Krkonoše Mts. and Hrubý Jeseník Since time of colonization, landscape alpine both mountain ranges has experienced turbulent development that been variable space time. The aim article to compare land use driving forces caused changes there, through literature search. results show lack studies focused on biggest differences started seventeenth century, when so called “huts farming” came as main force. This prevailed much later only very sporadically locally. Other change are mining, deforestation, afforestation, tourism.
